Unhappy A challenge to those who want tombs to stay 6v6 =)

I am sorry for starting out sounding like this is a flame but I think that a lot of people who like 6v6 are bad at the game. Here is your mission: Show me your great 8v8 tombs build. If you want to tell me your old 8v8 build that is cool or post up what you think would be meta in the new 8v8.

Prizes:
1st: 10k
2nd: 5K
3rd/Honorable Mention: 3x 1K each

Yeah, the prizes are kind of crappy but that is all that I can afford as a PVP player but I am for real. I have assloads of cool gold items and upgrades I may throw in if the winners need them too. I may raise prizes at the end too.

Official Rules:
8 x 8 = 64 full skills are required, as are attribute levels for all 8 characters. I will give an additional 10K to anyone with a convincing argument for 6v6 that also places in my prizes (doubtful). Detailed character play descriptions are a plus as are team strats. Good luck to all!

8v8 is supposedly being considered for its return so I am going to take that glimmer of hope and start making fun builds again. If you love 6v6 be prepared for 8v8 and get started early with a chance to win some cash.

Edit: O yea, if you know 8v8 is better, feel free to post your build anyhow and mention it GG!

With changes similar to what we've seen this weekend in mind, I'd probably run something like this.

Both of you linked to the same build.. hmm confused. Let me just say I am hoping for some better stuff anyhow if you want to submit more than 1.

For everyone, don't forget to say if/why you prefer 6v6 or 8v8. If your IGN isn't to the left leave that too. I may have some secret conditions for the rules Also, I think the contest will end in about two weeks.. Hopefully we will be having the 8v8 "test" weekend around then? Well I can wish right.

Are you looking for an 8v8 build with traditional skills and maps, or with the junky weekend changes? The perfect build probably won't apply to both.

I cannot really be bothered to post a whole build at the moment but would just like to again voice my favour of 8v8 because it requires more skill is more verstatile and is more fun. Anyway if 8v8 comes back I would probably at first just for a laugh run old school dual shot r-spike for nostalgic value. Anyway we would probably still destroy the 6v6 loving rubbish players even with the ridiculous recharge on dual shot etc.

Either/or really. Just specify your stance on 6v6/8v8 and if this is pre/post NF or with the crappy proposed changes, w/e. I like descriptions on how a certain character or team build is to be played, so those are + for you. I am convinced that almost everyone that wants 6v6 are horrible players, but I want someone to prove me wrong. Are they even experienced in 8v8 or just new players?

I couldn't care less whether Ha is 6v6 or 8v8 as long as the maps and assortment of victory conditions get changed.

But, I would like to take money off Coke

So I've dragged out an ancient 8v8 HA build that got me from r3 to r6, its pre-Factions, never mind being pre-NF :P

Warrior/Elementalist

Strength: 13 (12+1)
Axe Mastery: 16 (12+4)

Marksmanship: 9 (8+1)

Crippling Shot [Elite]

Life Siphon (Blood Magic)
Well of Blood (Blood Magic)
Necrotic Traversal (Death Magic)
Gale (Air Magic)
Windborne Speed (Air Magic)
Offering of Blood [Elite] (Blood Magic)
Resurrection Signet ()

Plus Usual 3 monk backline.

Oh yeah, for those of you that didn't play HA back then a usual 3 monk backline would have been a WoH Heal Monk, a Spellbreaker/Infuse Heal Monk and an RC Prot monk w/ Aegis and Convert hexes.

3 cookies and a glass of milk to whoever spots who I ripped it off from at the time.

EDIT 01/02: If anyone cares for the trivia, its a blatent rip-off from an early Nyog build, which they used to much success at the time, of their most prevalent and successful modifications to the original build replaced the OoB Nec with a smiter.

Hmm I don't remember hearing about CC until their version of NR/Tranq became heavily copied.

Anyhows, Throw Dirt? Ignorance? I want to see something more solid for the grand prize winner.

Noob On Steroid, you will not receive credit for IWAY lol. If you come up with a nice post-NF version, maybe though. I don't discriminate against any sort of build even if noobies call them lame =)

Long before their time.

An earlier versions of the CC build is here: http://gwshack.us/fe4e1

I believe that's build when they were still called Guillotine Tactics [GanK], I could be wrong though.

Does that count as two entries?

PS. Throw dirt was actually useful vs balled up IWAY teams that roamed HA at that time, you could usually get at least two or three that were gathered around beating on a monk. I doubt it would be much good in these post-Iway days.

Powers 8v8 condition build -

1 R/w .. Pstance,apply poision,savage,distract,seeking,shields up,debilitaiting shot,res signet

R/e (This is what i played) Oathshot,gale, bestial mauling,fertile,frozen,cham animal,comfort animal,res

R/ Melandrus arrows,savage,distract,seeking,debilitaiting shot,fertile,natures,res signet

W/e - frenzy,sprint.shock,,evicerate,axe rake,executionars,ward of stability,res signet

Mo/me smiter air of enchment,reversal,guardian,zealots,balazars,divine boon,spirit bond,res signet,

Sb,orsion,dwanya,seed,infuse,party,inspired,channe ling,

restore,reversal,guardian,prot spirit,aegis,inspired hex,channeling,convert

woh,orsion,dwanya,seed,party,veil,convert,channeli ng

way it works.. i camp the prot monk and give gale/daze, everyone who ran 8v8 knows only the protmonk really ever brang condition removal, the other rangers spread conditions and call Deb shot's on the Woh, we put fertile up right at the start, and did a fertile bomb, *level 11 fertile* ... and right before fertile is due to drop i'd put down frozen, no matter what team we faced, would get rolled by the time the second fertile had bombed, and 95% of teams would die by the 50 seconds when the first fertile dropped, as frozen is down with Oathshot to keep spamming it, ...

i have a screenshot of us holding 15 times with it, and our ranger error 7'd right as we capped the altar on the first time, i'll post attributes later.. atm i have school

People who want 8v8 back are missing the point. we have 8v8 already. its called gvg. the reason i want Heroes ascent to stay 6v6 is because it is the only 6v6 in the game. this makes heroes ascent unique. if i want to do 8v8 (and often i do) i organize some gvg.

there is a larger variety of builds in the game because of the number of pvp posibilities. if you get rid of the 6v6 aspect of pvp, a whole list of builds become un used and obsolete.

and if the case is that 'people who want 6v6 are bad at 8v8' then go do some gvg and play with the 'better' people.

Paddypower: Power's build is cool and yes I had lots of fun playing that gale ranger with the pet too before. It isn't your build though :/ I am judging a lot on creativity, not the best build someone can gank from other people.

This is a joke right? lol

First of all, I don't want a lot of garbage in my thread so post a build or don't discuss please. You can take any 6v6 build and adapt it to 8v8 but not the other way around.

Second, we are supposed to get automated tournaments for GVG sometime in the near future. This means the death of the PUG GVG and even getting a single guest to go. 8v8 tombs was unique too in that it was the only 8v8 that didn't require you to have a set number of members (soon for a whole month before playing).

I keep getting 403 forbidden when I click any of the links, but I'd probably go with an 8 man version of Spirit Spam/Jaggedway or Searing Flames.

bring back 8v8
